The book is about the experiences of about 10.000 inhabitants of Marina Alta in New York between 1912 and 1920, making a list of up to 2.500 names of residents of the region during that period landed in the New Yorker port of Ellis Island .

In addition, the work incorporates the perspective of a daughter and granddaughter of immigrants from Orba and born in the United States who returned to the Marina Alta to retrieve their family roots.

Teresa Morell Moll is a professor of English at the University of Alicante and hopes that this study "it serves so that many relatives of immigrants can reunite with the ancestors and appreciate the courage of the people who left the town with the intention of improving the state of personal well-being and of the families".

The presentation will be accompanied by the president of IECMA, Rosa Seser, Councilwoman culture, Pepa FontAnd a representative of Edicions 96.
