Concern among the residents of Dénia regarding the infrequency of public transport

12 2024 April - 10: 05

The Dénia Neighborhood Participation Council held the second meeting of the year 2024 last Friday, April 5. In addition to the representatives of the municipal political groups, representatives of the Baix la Mar neighborhood association, les Bassetes, Deveses and Montgó.

From the Federation of Neighborhood Associations, different topics of interest to the city were put on the table. Firstly, they asked about the situation of public transport, to which it was reported that given the expectation that the new contract will not be awarded before the summer, the city council has allocated an amount to increase the frequency of buses. Marines and the Rotes every twenty minutes until 23:00 p.m. and the hospital line, every hour. In addition, the taxi service will be reinforced.

The Federation also expressed its concern about the new restructuring of health areas, in case it could affect the quality of care. According to the information available to the city council, this restructuring is internal for health personnel and, in principle, should not affect the service.

Another topic of interest was the drought that the region is suffering and whether it may affect the availability of drinking water in the coming months. The Council was informed that Aqualia has ruled out this possibility and that supply to the population is assured thanks to the desalination plant, wells and the works that have been carried out to reduce losses and leaks.

Other issues were the proliferation of motorhomes, the need to add sand to the Blay Beach, the firecrackers of failures and the need for public parking in Deveses, among others.

The city council reported on the works planned for 2024, such as the redevelopment of Sagunt Street and adjacent areas, the paving plan and the drafting of the Diana Forest and the second residence and day center for seniors projects. dependents.

  1. Sanny says:

It would also be necessary to correctly set the time at each stop and not the time when the bus leaves from Denia or from the end of Las Marinas. People from outside do not know how long the bus takes to get to the stop, so sometimes they think that the bus has already passed when it just left.

  2. Lizzie says:

In Las Déveses we have been asking for decent bus schedules for years, especially with the explosion in rental prices in the center of Denia. Little by little the tenants are leaving Denia and interesting schedules are super important.

  3. Alfred says:

I consider that the transport on the Marinas road is not suitable for a city like Denia, they are buses NOT SUITABLE for the urban area, I would have to purchase
buses in accordance with this type of travel and not those, which are totally inadequate.

  4. Daniel says:

Denia needs public transport especially for towns like Ondara, Vergel, Pedreguer, Pego or Jávea.
And more frequency and better schedules for the Rotas, the Marinas and the Hospital.
And a connection to the Santa Lucia-Montgo Residence area.
But the city council doesn't even consider this.
    Just a circular route.
    Painful.
