This Wednesday, 24 in January, an interesting presentation will take place in La Sala del Dénia Castle. The professor of Modern History of the University of Alicante, Armando Alberola, will allow us to know what relationship has existed and exists between Dénia and Wine, and how this relationship has affected the different socioeconomic, patrimonial and cultural aspects of Dénia and the Marina Alta along the history.

It is worth remembering that in Dénia, in the Alt de Benimaquia, there is the oldest wine press in the Iberian peninsula (where the grapes are pressed or pressed). In the S.IV a. de C, Dénia was one of the largest producers and exporters of wine of all antiquity.

During Roman times, the ancient Dianium imported and exported gastronomic products from all corners of the Mediterranean. In this talk, Alberola will visit the different historical periods and the importance that she has had in each one of them for the city of Dénia, paying special attention to the Modern Age.

The entrance to the paper is free, limited to the capacity of the premises.
