El Party de Dénia has criticized the current government team for its management of the works that are being carried out in the center of the city. Your candidate for mayor, Pepa Font, has expressed its concern about the fact that the works, which affect traffic throughout the area, could endanger the celebration of upcoming festivities such as the Mig Any de Moros i Cristians and the Fallas.
As the mayor has highlighted, the works being carried out in the streets of Marqués de Campo, Glorieta and Plaza Valgamediós are being very detrimental to the residents of the area, as well as to the shops and the Fallas collectives. Font has indicated that the Dénia City Council has promised that the Fallas commissions can assemble their monuments even if the works have not been completed, but has assured that "there is concern on the part of the affected Fallas collective, since the evolution of the works is not advancing favorably. Situation that could have been avoided if there had been viable planning.
The popular one has highlighted that «a calendar of performances different from the one that has been carried out should have been made and, above all, that it did not coincide in the middle of the high season of the Dianense festivities. In this way, we will find the most emblematic places of the city turned upside down and unable to be used”. In addition, Font has regretted that the residents of the Valgamediós square have had to endure on three occasions performances in terms of works.
But not only that, the popular has also criticized the public spending that the realization of these works has entailed. As she has highlighted, “the socialist government has spent three times more public money to carry out these works. All due to poor management and planning. But also due to a desire to carry out works at the gates of elections ».
