The qualifying jury of the 25th edition of the Photo contest Theme Dénia 2021 met yesterday at the House of Culture of Dénia to decide the awards, once the 67 originals presented had been valued, 35 in the artistic modality and 32 in that of tourist photography.
The members of the jury agreed to award the first prize for the Best Tourist Photography to the work Runner, by Paco Costa Cervera, by Jesús Pobre.
The first prize for the Best Artistic Photography to the Release of turtles in the Cabo de Sant Antoni marine reserve (3) by Eduardo Sánchez Rodríguez, participating in Dénia. Both prizes are endowed with 600 euros.
The second prize in the category of Best Tourist Photography has been for the image The old It montgóby Denier Benjamín Pastor Sanchis.
And in the category of Best Artistic Photography, the photograph Bajas de Enero, by Jake Sadhu Abbott, by Jesús Pobre, was awarded. These prizes are endowed with 300 euros each.
The jury for this edition has been made up of José Luis Clemente Marco and Ana Martí Testón, professors of the Department of Communication and Audiovisual, Documentation and Art History of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia; and Eva Asperilla, technician of the Department of Tourism of the City of Dénia, and as secretary, Maribel Font, technician of the Department of Culture.
The winning works, along with a selection of the photographs submitted to the contest, will be exhibited at the Dénia House of Culture from April 22 to May 8.
