Matria, Associació de Dones, has convened the I Literary Contest Matrix for gender equality, a call that aims to highlight the values of equality through short stories to commemorate the International Book Day next April 23.
In this literary contest, all those who wish may participate, as long as they present original and unpublished texts, not published in any form whatsoever, totally or partially (including the Internet), not awarded or pending in other contests, or waiting of response in an editorial process.
The theme of the stories will be gender equality, and may be written in Valencian and Castilian. The submitted works will have a maximum length of 500 words and may be submitted up to the 2 in April on paper to the Association Headquarters, located in Carrer de Campo Torres, 13 (03700, Dénia) indicating in the return address: FOR THE FIRST LITERARY CONTEST "MATRIA, FOR THE EQUALITY OF GENDER" 2018.
The works can also be sent in digital format to the mail associaciomatria@gmail.com indicating in the subject "Matria, for gender equality 2018".
The jury's decision will be made public at a literary event that will take place at the Hotel Nou Romà (carrer Nou, 28), the 23 in April of 2018, at 20 hours, as part of the celebrations of International Book Day.
The first prize will consist of a round trip to the Balearic Islands from Dénia and the publication of the winning work in a local newspaper. The second prize will be a dinner for two at a local restaurant.
