Mediterranean Harmonies, the musicians of the region who bet to bring quality classical music to the general public

21 September 2017 - 00: 30

La Marina Alta It can boast of many things: landscapes that make you fall in love, enviable gastronomy, wines with personality... but also a youth capable of doing incredible things and betting on what no one has bet on before. This is the case of thirteen musicians who love history and great compositions, who have come together in a project never seen before in the region, Mediterranean Harmonies.

Mediterranean Harmonies is a ensemble of wind, a formation that goes back to the s.XVIII and that is considered the antecedent of the bands of music. At that time, the Central European royalty counted on them to soften the dinners in the palace. For this, the musicians adapted the fashionable works of the moment for wind musicians, and in that is based on the proposal of Mediterranean Harmonies and we will see on stage for the first time this Saturday 23 of September.

Mediterranean Harmonies are Andrea Costa and Cristina Mahiques (flutes); Alba Sanz and Lourdes Gavilá (oboes); Aitor Zarragoitia and Pablo Marín (clarinets); Vicente Noguera and Francesca Silvestre (fagots); Adriá Tomàs and Juan Rafael Soler (tubes); Julio Fuster (double bass) and Carlos Mulet (percussion). And all of them under the direction of Javier Pinto, who devised this project more than five years ago and now comes true. All of them are musicians from Denia and the region with ages ranging from 25 to 35 years, many working in other cities and in other countries.

For this first concert, the training has worked in a purely classical repertoire, starting from the basis of ensembles. First, they will interpret the Symphony of the Cenerentola, by Rossini, then the Opus 67 from Chrome and the Jupiter Symphony No.41 from Mozart. And although they have not wanted to tell us anything, they have a gift in the form of a surprise piece for the end of the concert.

The concert will begin at 20: 30 hours in the auditorium of the Dénia Social Center and tickets can be purchased in advance in the Band (C / Manuel Lattur) or by calling 608 40 54 62 for 10 euros. The same Saturday can be bought at the box office of the Social Center for the same price.

For this project to become a reality, Mediterranean Harmonies has the support of the Commercial Center Portal de la Marina, where a few days ago they were playing to the surprise of the people who were doing their shopping.

But this project does not stay here. This is only the first of the many concerts they hope to offer in the region, in the country and in the rest of the world, because the ambition of these young people will lead them to move through international festivals with the aim of taking their proposal to all corners of the world, thus making classical music accessible to the general public and offering an opportunity to the good musicians in our area to demonstrate the quality that runs through their veins.
