The Department of Culture of Dénia, continuing with an initiative started last year, has scheduled a series of performances for Fridays in May at the Auditorium Theater of the Social Center with the aim of making visible the female talent on stage.

«From the conviction that culture is the place where the seeds of social transformations are sown and that one day we will have a more shared society, in which women have space and voice, we have designed the En feminine cycle with which we give voice to diverse perspectives, because it is the time for women and their cultural contributions, the time for the feminization of culture, for a parity culture with plural content," indicates the Councilor for Culture, Raúl García de la Reina.

After last year's cycle, Donate and music, which had exclusively musical content, this year's artistic proposal also includes performances of other performing arts, such as theater and clown circus.

Admission is free with an invitation, which must be downloaded on the Notikumi platform. All shows will start at 20:00 p.m.

Theatre, jazz, circus clown and the Sorolla universe

Programming in feminine begins on May 3, with a tango-jazz concert by Sheila Blanco & Federico Lechner Trio. Singer Sheila Blanco and pianist Federico Lechner reunite for a new project after their first collaboration on the album Puro Gershwin (2018). On Friday, May 10, the actress Nuqui Fernandez interpret the play Menina. I'm a fucking work of Velázquez, a reflection on the aesthetic canons imposed by society. The protagonists, the clowns Consuelo and Socorro, accompany the audience on a journey of healing, improvement and personal rebirth. Through irony, gossip and easy jokes, satire and humor of all colors, Consuelo and Socorro reveal the fragility of human beings, their greatness and misery, their contradictions, desires, dreams and failures. .

The show The Couchers. Sugar talks He won the Audience Award at the 2022 Cabanyal Íntim Festival and the Award for best circus performer for Elena Donzel at the 2023 Valencian Performing Arts Awards.

The cycle in feminine says goodbye on May 31 with a jazz-soul concert of the singer, songwriter and producer from Dénia Alba Santos.

In 2020, the singer published her first solo album with her own compositions called Improvisation and has participated in numerous collaborations with different artists from four continents.
