Suitcases at the station to claim the Denia-Oliva-Gandía Train

November 10 from 2013 - 00: 00

200 people around Dénia and as many in Gandia demonstrated on Saturday morning at the gates of respective train stations urgently to reclaim the rail link between the capitals of La Marina and La Safor.

The act, convened by Compromís, counted in Dénia with the support of all the opposition political groups except for the PP, who declined the invitation because it was not an official act. There we could see Óscar Mengual, Jordi Serra, Cristina Morera y Paco Roselló, the PSPV-PSOE; to Pepa Font y Juan Carlos Signes, from Center Unificat; and the councilor of the CDL Mari Martínez.

Attendees were invited to come with suitcases at the door of the station to catch a train "that never comes", and they raised their voices against the paralysis of the project.

During the protest an open letter demanding the state a budget for the railway line in 2014 read budgets and policy makers "Get down to work" because, according to the statement, "we will not allow any further extension at the beginning of the construction of the railway connection between the two regions, and civil society will act accordingly."
