Seven workers from the Santa Lucía Nursing Home have recognized their right to charge a specific monthly supplement of dangerousness, toxicity and hardship that the municipality had refused to pay until now.
After going to court, seven workers, two nurses and five nursing assistants must collect the full amount since April, when the trial was held. It is more than 50.000 euros that the city should pay the applicants, about 100 euros per month.
Union representative Andrea Pastor, explained that this is a right for which they have been fighting from 2007 in different negotiating tables with the consistory. When not obtaining a positive answer on the part of the city council, they were forced to go to the courts until now, six years later, they have seen their right recognized.
Now the city has a time to appeal the ruling, although from the union would regret that they did and "make the biggest ball".
From the SEP union advanced that there are 25 more people in the same conditions that should charge this supplement, and that they will negotiate with the municipality that is included in their payrolls from the next January 1 2014. In the event that the city council does not accept this treatment, these 25 persons will also go to court to obtain what the first seven claimants have already obtained.
The union representatives met with the councilor of contracting, María Mut, who was predisposed to accept the agreement that should deal with the government team.
