More than 500 school centers Carmelitas, Cervantes, Maristas, Montgó and Vessanes have learned more about the behavior and habitat of jellyfish in recent months.
During the months of February and March, this 558 school have visited the scientific station for the study and monitoring of jellyfish, located next to the Aula de Natura, in the House of Iryda. There CUBOMED the research project, launched by the Department of Environment, in coordination with the University of Alicante and the Institute of Sciences of the CSIC of Barcelona Mar is carried out.
Students discovered different species of jellyfish, via a video showing life and habitat, have observation through a microscope and have known sample materials for research. Also they have given them guidelines to follow in case of receiving the bite of these animals.
And could not they publicly provide the guidelines to follow in case of receiving the jellyfish sting to all the citizens? We are all exposed to that risk!
