The desired works of the Trust Plan finally arrive at Denia. As we announced last week, it will be this month of June when most of them start, a complicated time for the city because of the crowd that visits us in the summer.
That is why the Dianese entrepreneurs have gathered this Tuesday in the City Hall with the mayor of Denia, Vicent Grimalt, and the Councilor for Territory, Maria Josep Ripoll, with the aim of knowing the details of the development of the works and the planned planning from the consistory in the face of the chaos that can be generated in the city. The meeting was attended by representatives of CEDMA And Aehtma, with its two presidents, Sonja Dietz y Cristina Sellés, to the head.
Sonja Dietz, president of CEDMA, explained that while they are aware of the positive aspects of these works for the city of Denia, the tourism sector has shown some concern about the dates in which they will be developed. From the Town Hall they have explained that 15 have planned works, which must be added those of Calle Fontanella, of which they are especially concerned with the rehabilitation of the former auction, the redevelopment of Camí del Cementeri and the new bus station.
As for the works of the path of the cemetery, businessmen have proposed that traffic be coordinated with the Local Police so that access to the city does not suffer traffic jams and alternatives are offered to visitors. Entrepreneurs bet on the Gandía road as an option to access the city, as well as a good signage from the entrance of the city on the works that are being carried out.
In this sense, they have requested that the parking spaces be marked as well. This summer, the city adds the parking after the Federico Restaurant, at the beginning of the Marines, and a parking enabled on Avenida de Alicante, next to the gas station.
With respect to the rehabilitation works of the former Lonja, the employers have proposed to the City Council that the works are covered with a decorative canvas, but this initiative has been rejected by the consistory since it is not contemplated in the budget of the works.
Entrepreneurs insist that it is not a criticism, but quite the contrary. They state that their only concern is that "Since they have to be done in the middle of the season, they are as annoying as possible".
