«The people of the Marina Alta must receive the best possible health care»

OPINION Pepa Fontspokesperson PP Dénia

Today is a date marked in red on my calendar since last May 28, when Carlos Mazón won the elections to the Generalitat Valenciana. In the number of meetings, conversations and exchanges of messages we had before the elections, we always ended with the same conclusion: the people of the Marina Alta They must receive the best possible health care and, if that means reversing the management, it will be done. And the now President of the Generalitat Valenciana has fulfilled his promise with Dénia and with the Marina Alta.

As a healthcare professional, I greatly empathized with the complaints that were made by the Works Committee and the statutory staff. They have made every effort to ensure that their working conditions do not affect users, and they have prioritized the health service over their own work well-being. They have worked beyond their means, in often leonine conditions. And all the Dianenses and residents of the Marina Alta must be grateful for that, without any type of discussion. Those who were marching were because they couldn't take it anymore.

What we were clear about from the PP of Dénia was that, in order to receive a good health service, the conditions of the workers had to be fair, as well as their economic remuneration, which is where the improvement of the service would begin. Workers with correct workloads and with their economic conditions comparable to those of other professionals in the sector would be the real beginning of the reversal. This is how we conveyed it to the Minister of Health Marciano Gómez and he understood it perfectly. That was the first step to take and that is what it has been. The Generalitat has expanded the service by 300 new workers, incorporating them within the Reversion Decree, going from 1370 workers to 1700.

Now, let's let the professions work, and for the first time in a long time, let's keep politics, or rather, politicians, away from healthcare. Everything must have a stabilization time, first the health workers, then the facilities, and then we ask Marina Salud for what it has not executed, and we demand the pending infrastructure to be carried out. We are not starting the tension, as some of those who for the last eight years have deceived citizens by promising a reversal that was very difficult to fulfill, and they knew it, are already trying. On our part it will be like that, but I fear that on the part of others it will not, from time to time.

But I'm sorry, no one believes that the PP and you have done anything for public health. You are with the City Council when you are going to applaud the seua privatization. Deixa demagògia, or not, because people do not believe in these issues.
