The contracting table of the Dénia City Council meeting this Monday morning has decided, unanimously, to paralyze the efforts of the lots affected by the irregularities detected in the awards of the beach bars, hammocks and skates of the beaches Denia.
The Councilor for Citizens, Sergio Benito, which is part of said table, has explained that traps have been detected in most of the offers submitted. These traps are referred to coordinated offers of two or three companies for the same position, a practice hitherto usual in this type of tenders that now penalizes the law since it allows applicants to compete with more advantage and reduce the benefits of the City Council in these lots.
The Contracting Committee detected these irregularities when they realized that different companies have submitted the same documentation, the same report or even the same tax address for different positions offered.
Thus, the first measure taken has been to request additional documentation from the affected companies. These will have a five-day period of allegations, and in the event that it is confirmed that they have coordinated the bids, they will be automatically excluded from the bid and the bidding will be resolved among the remaining companies.
Of the 14 lots that were put out to tender, nine are affected by this collusive practice. The remaining five are related to the water skates on the beach of The Bovetes and the hammocks on the beaches of Bovetes, Tétom, Assagador de San Pere and Les Bassetes. In this case, since no irregularities were detected, the procedure continues its usual course.
The nine affected lots agglutinate all the chiringuitos that are mounted on the beach of Dénia, some skates and hammocks in specific places.
