Tourist rental companies want to intensify inspections against their illegal competitors

The Valencian Tourism Agency has created, together with the different tourist rental business associations of Alicante, Valencia and Castellón, an Intrusive Board from which to coordinate actions aimed at protecting the rights of companies, clients and homeowners. One example is the intensification of inspection campaigns, inviting companies to register and individuals to register their homes in the corresponding administration.

In the words of Mariano Espinosa, President of AEA (Association of Rental Housing in the province of Alicante), "inspection is essential to deter fraudulent actions, but must be accompanied by other measures such as the registration of all homes in Tourism Management".

Companies from third countries

Espinosa directs special attention to companies that operate in third countries because "many offer very few guarantees of service destination and divert payments directly abroad, incurring fraud "-does not pay taxes.

Non-resident foreign owners

Regarding non-resident foreign owners, he said that the tax disadvantages when they want to rent their home in Spain sometimes "make them flee the discharge in our country" to escape from "pay VAT" and hiring "service providers without invoice", thus giving more coverage to "this black market for property services".

    what worries agencies, is no guarantee of Quality by clients who rent, is losing customers who rent online.
