The story of the Dianense that Sweden shows in 'Valencians al món'

11 2024 April - 15: 07

Carmen Roig, 25 years old and born in Dénia, moved to Sweden for love. The Valencian told her story yesterday on the program “Valencians al món”. During her Erasmus in the country she met a Swede who stole her heart, Lucas. Furthermore, during her stay in Örebro, she was able to do an internship at a school, where she was eventually offered a job as a teacher and student assistant.

"I'm happy, life is quite different, it's calmer, I've adapted from the beginning," said the Dianense, although she acknowledges that Swedish "is quite difficult." She also mentioned that the food of Spain is one of the things she misses the most, along with family and friends.

On the other hand, Carmen highlighted that, while the rent in Sweden is 700-1.000 euros, the minimum wage is around 2.500 euros, which gives "more room for savings" than in Spain.

"Although they seem a little dry at first, as soon as you become a little friends with them, you can count on them 100%," Carmen commented regarding the Swedes.

The Valencian showed the charms of the Wadköping Open Air Museum, a cultural treasure that recreates Swedish life in the 19th century. In addition, she also took the program team to the town of Nora, where they immersed themselves in a frozen lake.
