The Civil Guard dismantles a criminal group specialized in robbery inside homes

November 03 from 2020 - 11: 00

The Civil Guard has arrested five people for being the alleged perpetrators, for the moment, of a total of 95 crimes against property and the socioeconomic order, these being robberies with force inside the house, with and without residents, thefts inside of housing, bank scams (for fraudulent use of cards), reception, money laundering, as well as the crimes of usurpation of marital status, usurpation of real estate, against road safety and belonging to a criminal group. The investigation remains open to determine the possible participation of the detainees in more criminal acts.

The operation began last June 2020, when the agents of the Moraira-Benissa Civil Guard Investigation Team detected an increase in the commission of criminal acts against property and the socio-economic order, whose modus operandi followed a very similar pattern in all cases.

The authors accessed second residences, most of them for vacation use, using force if necessary, carrying out said activity at night and in the morning, so that, in some of these cases, the residents were in inside the home.

Another factor to take into account was that they focused on stealing objects that could be put on the market quickly, mainly jewelry, watches, cash, bank cards and electronic objects such as tablets, laptops and mobile phones.

In the case of bank cards, they tried to make use of them in the hours immediately following the theft and in nearby establishments, in order to get the most out of them before the victim blocked it.

As a result of numerous investigation efforts, it was possible to verify the existence of a criminal group formed by the members of the same family, settled in the Valencian town of Ribarroja who, in a coordinated and concerted manner, using different vehicles of their ownership or third parties, made trips to towns in the province of Alacant, to commit these criminal acts, such as Teulada-Moraira, Benissa, Calp, Benitatxell, Dénia and Xàbia, as well as other towns in the provinces of València (Gandia, Cullera, Sueca, Tavernes, Aldaia), Castelló (Benicàssim, Oropesa and Burriana) and even Cuenca (mostly in the Manchuela region of Cuenca. ; Minglanilla, Iniesta Farm, Motilla del Palancar, Villanueva de la Jara, Pozorrubielos de la Mancha).

The two known perpetrators, a couple made up of a 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, traveled from Ribarroja to the other neighboring provinces, always by national and regional highways, stopping in the aforementioned locations and committing various criminal acts, both in the outward journey and in the return journey.

This group branched out, in turn, into a network of "collaborators", managing to release, almost immediately, the numerous objects stolen in the various robberies and thefts.

With all this information obtained, the agents of the Investigation Team of the Civil Guard of Moraira-Benissa, in collaboration with the Investigation Area of the Civil Guard of Xàbia and with the support of agents of the USECIA of the Company of Calp, of Calp and Xàbia patrols, USECIC of the Valencia Civil Guard, the Ribarroja and Silla Research Areas and Llíria patrols, proceeded to enter and register a total of 2 homes in Ribarroja in the province of Valencia, 1 in Tavernes de la Valldigna, 1 in Valencia, 1 gold-buying establishment in Valencia, as well as 1 container and truck parking in Aldaia.

In the latter, a total of 105 shipping containers and 60 truck boxes were registered, in which one of the detainees was loading, mostly, the stolen bar chairs and televisions, to send them to Mali.

Said operation, made up of 44 troops, resulted in the intervention of more than 1000 bar terrace chairs, almost a thousand pieces of various jewelery, numerous computer equipment, televisions, mobile phones, electric scooters, 30 sets of snow chains, 8 Generating sets, numerous bags, wallets and sunglasses from prestigious brands, various bank cards stolen as well as the intervention of 3 vehicles with which the detainees were traveling. The value of all this is estimated at 947.000 euros.

As a result of the foregoing, 5 people, 3 men and 2 women between 25 and 54 years old, have been arrested.

All of them have already been made available to the Court number 3 of those of Dénia, who has decreed the entry into provisional prison without bail of a 27-year-old detainee, for being considered the leader of this criminal network, leaving the four remaining detainees in release on charges, awaiting trial.
