With a game of 550.000 euros recorded in the budgets of the Generalitat, the Regional Minister of Social Welfare Asunción Sánchez Zaplana confirmed the start of construction of the center of La Xara day next April.
The announcement was made during his visit this week to the Center for the Reception of Minors in Les Rotes, which welcomes minors from unstructured families who need support.
During the visit, Sánchez Zaplana visited the facilities with the director, Pilar Dalmau, who conveyed the current needs of the center, such as a psychologist or a social worker who attends the internal 22 that the center currently has and the six minors who they go to the day center.
Asked about the Day Center of La Xara, Sánchez Zaplana explained that the intention of the Government is to begin work in late April or early May. It will be a building attached to the Occupational Center of La Xara 400 square meters, which may include 40 people. According to the Regional Minister, in 2016 it will be able to launch this infrastructure.
Sanchez Zaplana explained that the fact of undertaking this infrastructure does not rule out the construction of the so-called Socio-Sanitary Area of La Pedrera, but that the current economic situation does not allow its construction, so this alternative was sought.
