The Ministry of Housing, through the Valencian Community of Habitat and Sòl (EVha), since July 2015 has allocated a total of 7.320.780 euros to apply bonuses to reduce the rents of public housing of the Generalitat. The costs of these leases vary according to the income and number of members of the family unit.
Regarding the total amount of the bonuses, which amounts to 7.320.780 euros, the province of Alicante takes 4.026.430 euros, the province of Valencia, 2.489.065 euros and 805.285 that of Castellón.
Of the 2.300 families that on average benefit from the bonuses each year, around 800 correspond to the province of Alicante, 1.300 to Valencia and 200 to Castellón.
This measure, which is part of the actions of the Dignification Plan for Social Housing, annually benefits an average of 2.300 families. The plan, promoted by the Ministry headed by María José Salvador, includes shock measures to manage and dignify the public housing park of the Generalitat, thus responding to the social vocation and rescue of the people of the current Consell.
This disbursement in the application of discounts reflects the effort of the Valencian Government to carry out a change of model in the management of housing policies, improving accessibility to the most disadvantaged groups through aid and giving real answers to families most in need.
Informative campaign to the residents in social rent
To publicize these bonuses, the Ministry of Housing has carried out during these three years information campaigns aimed at residents of public housing that are managed under social rent. These campaigns include meetings with neighborhood communities in which the measures implemented by the Consell are explained to make more flexible the payment of the income of people with fewer resources.
Next, the situation of each family is studied and the reduction in the rent that corresponds to it is applied, taking into account the income and members of the family unit.
