The celebration of October 9 divides dianense politics

10 October 2017 - 07: 57

The same appointment: the celebration of the Day of the Valencian Community. But that was all that was in common in a festive day for the Valencians, at least for the Dianense politicians. In the absence of an institutional act, Party y Compromís They chose to celebrate their own acts, at the same time, in different scenarios.

You pledge in the Plaza Jaume I, at the foot of the statue. PP at the entrance of the Social Center. The first, more demanding even with their own governments, in the Generalitat and in the City. The latter, claiming their valencianía in the times that run and the unity of Spain.

PP: "We feel part of this common state that is Spain"

The act of the popular counted with the participation of the councilor Isabel Gallego, who served as a driver. Next, Paco Català recalled the story of October 9 and Andrés Escribà read an excerpt from Jaume I's Furs. Sabela Miñana read the poem "La teua llengua" before giving way to the president's speech, María Mut.

In his words, which made intercalando the Valencian and the Spanish, Mut began talking about the feeling of belonging to the Valencian people "already this common state that is Spain". The president of the popular launched the desire to be a day of celebration "above ideological and political discrepancies" and that the common objective must be "guarantee the welfare of the people".

After inviting the citizens to celebrate this day together, he hoped that "let's avoid, as far as possible, all the political toxicity that comes to us from other places".

At the end of his words, the Coral of the Home of Retired Dénia interpreted the song Valencia and then sounded the hymn of the Comunitat Valenciana. The event ended with a globotà for the little ones and distribution of mistela among the assistants.

It is worth mentioning the presence in this act of party of the council of Citizens in the City of Denia, Sergio Benito.

Compromís asks that the neighbors take part in the participative processes of the City council

The spokesman of Compromis per Dénia and deputy mayor of the city, Rafa Carrió, took advantage of his speech to ask those present to be involved in all the participatory processes that, both from the City Hall and from the party, are being carried out with democratic mechanisms to "to continue in the line of the political, social, economic and cultural change that we have always defended, and that has as a priority the people".

Finally, he thanked the councilors for their work, as well as "All the people who, selflessly, have fought for the identity and political values that we celebrate today and that make us so proud to be Valencians".

The councilor Marian Tamarit deepened in the demand of a fair financing. Tamarit recalled that "We not only have an inheritance corrupted by the mismanagement of the PP, but we still suffer a very obvious marginalization in the state budgets". Therefore, he appealed to the citizens to especially on a day like this "Do not forget that the same government that boasts of being the defender of legality and the Constitution but that is the party of illegal self-financing, of the cuts, of the accused or imprisoned politicians, etc., is what we are underfunded to all Valencians ".

Thus, he pointed out that "It is important to remember that despite representing the 11% of the population of the state, we receive an investment of 6,9% that represents 119 euros per capita; a figure clearly below the average of 184 euros and very far from that of other state territories who receive three times more than the Valencians ".

Tamarit also spoke of the feeling of belonging of the Valencian people. For her, to be Valencian or Valencian "It is to work for a Valencian country; to feel part of the gear of a Valencian-speaking nation, of a Valencian history, of a Valencian culture and traditions, neither better nor worse than others, simply private, my, of my family, of my people", And added that "On a day like today, more than ever, I ask for respect, peace and empathy towards the various nationalist sensibilities".

It is the circumstance that, as every year, the City Council of Dénia deposits a laurel wreath at the foot of the statue of Jaume I in memory of the Day of the Valencian Community. This year, again, the organization of the event of Compromis hid the crown before beginning the act to finish offering a bouquet of flowers that minutes later they retired themselves.

In the act of Comrpomis it emphasized the absence of two of the four councilors that form the grouping, since neither Josep Crespo ni Eva Round attended the celebration of the party of the Valencians.
