February 28 from 2024 - 10: 47

After the postponement of the last league day, players from the Dénia School focused on the matches of the Regional Team Championships in which they participated.

In category M16 male, Darío D'Elia was once again part of the National Team in the match played against Catalonia, which beat the Valencians 22-27 and became champion of Spain. The match was closely contested and with many alternatives on the scoreboard but it was the Catalan team that won and took the title. The Valencian team has finished third behind Catalonia and Madrid.

The selection M16 female of which Dianense Nerea Silva is a part, debuted in the CESA against Euskadi with a draw, on her trip to Basque lands, in a match marked by the poor condition of the field due to the rains that turned the playing field into a muddy field. and that did not allow normal play or development of the game.

The team tied at five after winning the entire match due to a try in the first half. Despite dominating and being close to increasing the advantage, at the end of the match the Basques managed to score a try that left the final score in tie. The poor condition of the playing field did not allow the Valencians to demonstrate their potential, although they did show their caste and dedication on a field where they could not be played.

On this trip to Euskadi, the Valencian women's M19 team also played a match, in which the Barbarians player, Paz Pöhmerer, took an active part in it. In this match, the same thing happened as with the M16, since the mud did not allow any type of game to be developed beyond trying to advance meters by balancing and without the ball slipping from the players' hands. Despite rehearsing twice, the Valencian team could neither win nor draw. The final result was 15-10 for the locals who took advantage of their greater size to achieve a victory.

Looking ahead to this next day, the Dénia Barbarians M16 will host CAU Valencia on Sunday, March 3 at 12:00 p.m., at the Tío Luís Rugby Field of the Dénia Sports Center. One of the favorites in this 2nd Phase of the league. A tough test for the locals, who must try to bring out their full potential.

As for the Senior team, they will travel to Albacete to face the La Mancha team, a match that will be played on Saturday, March 2 at 18:00 p.m.
