José María Olazábal, one of the great icons of Spanish golf, with numerous and very important professional victories throughout his brilliant career, inaugurated the street that bears his name, located in the La Sella Golf Resort.
This warm tribute attended a 300 people between personalities, partners and golf enthusiasts in general.
The route christened Street José María Olazábal joins the main road La Xara-Xabia the clubhouse of the golf course, just between the Denia Marriott hotel and Premium urbanization, obligatory place to access the golf course, often hosts big amateur tournaments and professional character that make it one of the busiest in Spain.
José María Olazábal admitted to all present that "It is a great honor for me to distinguish me with the name of a street, especially where it is produced, which has a huge importance in my personal and professional career".
The famous Basque golfer, winner of the Prince of Asturias Award for Sports at 2013, said that "I was lucky enough to know more than 26 years ago of Pepe Bañó and all the people who make up his sensational team and I can only thank them to everyone, both for choosing me to develop the project of this golf course and for the fabulous treatment that they have given me from the first moment ".
José María Olazábal was thrilled when he recalled that "Many years together, and although I have received other awards, this has a very special meaning".
