People from Dénia denounce the poor cleaning in the ravines, channels and ditches

18 October 2023 - 12: 11

Gent of Dénia has recently denounced the serious deficiencies of the new waste collection and management service. The contract includes the cleaning of channels, ditches and ravines, but apparently it only contemplates minimal action and without the collection of green remains, which causes them to remain within the channel.

We reported it in the case of the Casiopea Street ravine, where the same thing happened, but in recent days, the “cleaning” of the Les Vessanes irrigation ditch has been carried out, right in front of the Torrecremada fair. Apart from not removing the few green residues that have been cut, leaving them inside, they have only combed the highest part, that is, they have given it a hairdresser's cut, “just the ends.” Proof of this are the attached photographs.

We find this way of acting scandalous, without the City Council exercising any control over this matter. Well, in case of heavy rains, it is very dangerous for people and causes serious blockages and flooding.
That is why we demand that the City Council take the necessary measures to provide an immediate solution to this type of action, even if it has to be another brigade or another company that does it, since we are in the season of heavy rains and an appropriate intervention is urgent.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch libe Politiker in Denia. Macht endlich eure Arbeit für die Bürger und lasst uns ausländischen Bürgern bitte auch die spanische Sprache. Immer mehr nur in Valenciano and wir verstehen euch gar nicht mehr.

I totally agree, it is the municipality's job to keep the roadsides tidy. But it is also our job as citizens to deposit waste in the different containers and not on the roadsides. Together we can keep our environment tidy!

  3. Pillar says:

Totally agree with what you say, but gentlemen rulers:: Go through the Marinas. Which also "smells." They cleaned and "everyone was so happy", but friend "it has to be maintained." They cover the file and they look good. And another problem is a lack of workers, but of course they only hire for "administrative jobs." We citizens have to give them the solutions!! Go, go

A good example is access to Marquesa. At the top, some streets were quickly paved and flaunted.
But most of the driveway looks like a creek bed. The edges of the road are covered with vegetation and boulders, so only two-thirds of the road is passable.
Most of the properties have been sold, so it is better to invest where the new future futuristic tourists will stay. Fantastic, full of future fantasy.

  5. Omniway says:

The garbage rate rose by 20%.
    20%, 20%.
Neighbors, let's see if you are aware of what is there!!!
20% more rate than we are paying and the service is worse than before.
But DÉNIA is a small Spain. It is poorly managed and no one complains.
If someone complains, or rather, demands that their money be managed efficiently, they are, above all, called disciples of the sect that governs us.
Please, let's stop being naïve and if these politicians want to enjoy the power and privileges that this brings them, at least they should be on top of the job and verify the services they hire so that this is not a joke that when there is something wrong, always solve “raising taxes”
Can you imagine what would happen to a company if it is not going well and what it does to solve it is raise prices?
Let's not be so tolerant and demand good management.

  6. Dori says:

The service is disastrous, the inhabitants of Dénia have to pay for it. Why does the IBI rise too much? The City Council's work is without words, they are only interested in tourism. The city is dirty, there are complaints and nothing happens. It is shameful.
