Sculpture exhibition MODESTO MARÍ

From 10 from September to 11 in October, the Center d'Art L'Estacio It hosts the sculpture of Modesto Marí.

This exhibition is a retrospective of this artist, a tribute to his workshop, l'Alfatara, where you can find him working in his works or quietly contemplating the field, according to the time he has when he comes.

Modest Marí entered the world of carving and modeling when he studied in Valencia the career of Nursing. The School of Arts and Crafts of Valencia He opened the door and there acquired the necessary basis that years later would allow him to give shape to their creations. In the early years 80 and he began to exhibit his works were selected in various competitions and exhibitions:

Parallel has presented his works in solo exhibitions held in the Cultural Hall of the CAPA (Denia, 1986); in the Exhibition Hall of the Fairgrounds of Valencia (1988), in the Touched Room (Denia, 2003), in l 'Espai Guixeres (La Almazara, Denia, 2006); And in l ' Espai Guixeres (Cirilo Amorós, Valencia, 2007)

The exhibition "25 years in the Alfatara" The visitor will be able to know the different ways of working that the sculptor has experienced, works carved in stone, in wood and also in iron.

Modesto Marí is inspired by his surroundings, in the details that call his attention: "My sculptures are more conceptual than abstract, I imitate nature, I walk, I look, I take a detail, I take a photo, I'm trying ... looking at what I have around me is what I like the most."

The stone is one of the materials in which Modesto Marí works more at ease, although he does not rule out trying other materials such as plastics. Almost all the pieces he has made in the last year thinking about the exhibition are made of stone. Among the pieces that we can contemplate in the exhibition are several couples, since the author is very interested in the study of couples - complements, faced ... - from the point of view of different artists.
