These are the winners of the Dénia 2024 Sports Gala

The Councilor for Sports, Valentín Alcalá, presented this Tuesday, in a press conference, all the details of the Dénia Sports Gala 2024, a sporting event that has not been held since 2019. This event will recognize the effort, the achievements and successes of the best clubs, schools, coaches and Dianense athletes of the year 2023. The Councilor has listed the categories and winners of this edition, among which it is worth highlighting the Special Awards from the Department of Sports of Dénia to Fiamma Benítez , Valencia CF Femenino player, and Valencia CF player José García 'Pepelu'.

"This gala is a project that we want to celebrate from the City Council to make visible and publicly recognize our extensive sports community, to value grassroots sports and the effort and quality of Dianense athletes," said Alcalá. The councilor has reported that the event will take place on Friday, March 22 at 20:00 p.m. at the Auditorium Theater of the Social Center. The event will be presented by Tarannà Teatre and will feature different performances from the Dénia Rhythmic Gymnastics Club and Ineffable productions, they will be performances focused on a theme about sport and equality, and about the experiences of athletes and coaches, but will focus on the role of the latter.

One of the blocks will be Awards for municipal public schools, with the Award for the Municipal Sports School with the greatest Progression or Growth for the Municipal Athletics School. Also the Award for the Most Outstanding Athletes of the Municipal Sports Schools for Marco García and Daniel Barrera (both from EM Athletics). On the other hand, the Award for the Most Outstanding Teams of the Sports Schools will be awarded to the Cadet/Youth Women's Team of the Municipal Football School. Finally, the Award for the Most Outstanding Coach of the Sports Schools will be awarded to José Mengual.

In addition, in the awards of the Department of Sports the Prize for the Greatest Dedication to the Base for the Base Football of Dénia will be awarded; the Award for Grassroots Athletes with the Greatest Future Projection, for Henar and Irene Molina of Levante UD; the 2023 Sports Event Award for the La Sella Golf Club for the La Sella Open Tournament of the Ladies European Tour; the Award for the promotion of Inclusive Sports for Mar Dalmau for “Condemned to the Curb”; the Award for the promotion of Solidarity Sports for Gaspar Ruíz from the Tronquet 71 Team, and the Award for Women's Sports for the Rowing Club Marina Alta of Dénia for its V Edition of the 100 Solidarity Paladas Tournament against breast cancer.
