Tonight is the night of the brightest Supermoon of the next seven years

February 19 from 2019 - 07: 05

Today, 19 of February, at night, the moon will be at its maximum point of perigee, the closest point to Earth. A closeness that will allow us to appreciate our satellite at its maximum splendor this afternoon. This is the so-called supermoon of snow, which receives this name when it occurs in a period of major snowfall in the northern hemisphere.

This Tuesday the Moon and the Earth will be separated by 355.665 Kilometers, so its appearance, a larger 14% and a brighter 30% compared to a Full Moon at apogee (maximum distance to Earth), will not be repeated until the year 2026.

Although at first glance it will be difficult to appreciate the increase in size, you can notice its brilliance, especially if the observation is made from far away from the lights of the city and its pollution.
