El Real Club Nautico Denia held last Saturday, August 10, its traditional Partner Day, a day of competitions and union between the members of the club that included the hoisting of the Blue flag, two regattas and the long-awaited paella contest.
The raising of the blue flag was attended by Jaime Portolés, President of the Real Club Náutico Dénia, Amaya Sáez, Manager, Juan M. Riera, Vice President, Nicolás Candela, Secretary, Juan Antonio Carmona, Comodoro, Juan M. Calvente, Vocal de Vela and Elvira Polo, Responsible for the Environment.
At 11 in the morning, the race for mixed couples Melchor i Gràcia began, in which after a hard competition and a fantastic tour, the boat Platú Deniavela, by Amaya Sáez and Juan M. Riera was proclaimed winner. The second place got it 29er by Davide Burzio and Joan Civera. And the third position went to the Fernández Dato Brothers with a 4.70.
At 17 hours it was the turn of the Veterans Regatta, the funniest test of this day in which the adults of the club compete with the smaller boats, the Optimists. The first place, for the fifth consecutive year, went to María Eugi, followed by Juan M. Calvente and David Fernández.
Some 400 attendees started the paellas contest at 20 hours, in which they demonstrated their culinary skills. The winning paella was Course of Jerónimo Calvo, while the second classified was Palote II of Fernando Ribes and third place was achieved by Maik Dimitrov with Bulgarians around the world.
The trophy delivery was made by Jaime Portolés, President of the Real Club Náutico Dénia, Energetic Carrasco, Sports Manager, Juan M. Riera, Vice President, Nicolás Candela, Secretary, María Antonia Simó, Member of Social Activities, Juan Ferrer, Member of Fishing and Juan M. Calvente, Vocal de Vela.
