The PP presents allegations against the increase in taxes in Dénia, proposing its reduction "to stimulate the economy"

The municipal group of Party from Dénia has presented allegations against the recent tax increase approved by the city government. The measure that has generated the most controversy is the increase in the real estate tax (IBI), approved last October, which raised the applicable tax rate from 0,95 to 1,05, positioning Dénia as the municipality with the highest type in the province of Alicante, ensures training.

José Antonio Cristóbal, councilor of the municipal group of the Popular Party, has expressed his disagreement, pointing out that since 2016, the government team has increased cadastral values and tax rates, resulting in an increase in the annual IBI of 43%. Cristóbal has argued that these decisions demonstrate inefficiency in the management of public accounts, affecting citizens in a context of high inflation and lower purchasing power.

In response, the Popular Party proposes reducing the tax rate to 0,80, which would mean a saving of approximately 150 euros per home. According to the popular councilor, this measure seeks to leave more money in the pockets of citizens to stimulate the economy and improve purchasing power. In addition, an increase in bonuses for large families and the real estate tax bonus for economic activities of special interest or municipal utility is proposed.

The PP proposal also incorporates 50% aid for single-parent families, retirees, pensioners, young people under thirty years of age who acquire their first home, victims of gender violence and families with a member with a disability greater than 33%.

Another of the notable proposals is the 95% bonus on the tax on the increase in value of urban land (capital gains) in inheritances and subsidized donations, recently approved by the Generalitat.

José Antonio Cristóbal has urged to change the dynamics of public resource management, advocating for fair minimum taxes that cover the needs of public services and investments. The councilor proposes an approach focused on the review, management and savings of public spending to guarantee maximum well-being and effectiveness in municipal investments.
