El I Diego Mena Memorial it is a test framed within the Suma League besides being the Championship of Autonomic Fund. The test will be held next February 10, in Dénia waters.
This event was presented at the facilities of the Marina de Denia. In the act were Gabriel Martínez as Director of Marina Dénia, Rafael De Bustamante, on behalf of the Boga Club de Mar; the mayor of sports, Juan Carlos Signes; Diego Mena Larrosa, son of Diego Mena, and the representatives of the collaborated companies, Varadero and Mundo Marino.
Martínez made reference to the figure of Diego Mena, and the positive thing that seemed to him to participate in the organization of this test since it fulfills all the necessary that the honoree deserves.
De Bustamante spoke about the technical aspects of the race and stressed that every effort has been made to make a regatta that is remembered by all, having taken care of all the details to the fullest.
Juan Carlos Signes pointed out, an aspect to take into account, the regatta crosses the Marine Reserve of Cabo de San Antonio. He explained that a great job has been done to make this possible.
Diego's son once again had words of thanks, "The family appreciates this type of act, we see how every day the figure of my father is still among the Dianense society."
The test that will leave the mouth of the port will take the feluccas up to the height of the Rte. Mena, there they will have to turn towards Dénia.
The categories of Veterans, both female and male, and the Absolute Feminines will take part in this test. Around 12 teams by category. The rowers that participate in this test will be 350.
The Memorial will begin at the 9 of the morning giving the departures the feluccas of the category Veteranas Femeninas. On the 10`30 will come the category of Male Veterans and on the 12 hours it will be the turn for the Absolute Females.
In this race the three Dénia clubs will participate; RCN Dénia with her team of Absolute Women and Veterans. The Club of Rem Dénia with its team of Veterans and the Boga Club Mar with its team of Veterans.
