With the incorporation of Rectal Arterial Embolization, Hospital de Dénia It has been placed at the forefront of the treatment of hemorrhoids. Currently this service is performed in very few hospitals in the country and is considered one of the most advanced techniques for the treatment of hemorrhoids.

Rectal Arterial Embolization is a minimally invasive procedure that allows reducing post-surgical pain, since instead of removing the hemorrhoid with the scalpel, it dries it, cutting off the blood supply that reaches it. This procedure shortens the recovery period and increases the quality of life of the patient.

The patients are assisted by a multidisciplinary group in which specialists in General and Digestive Surgery and Interventional Radiology participate. It is indicated for patients who present contraindication or difficulties for surgery or who have already undergone previous anal interventions or for patients with blood coagulation disorders.

.

Dr. Luis Andreo, Head of the Radiodiagnosis Service, explains that: "Since the incorporation of this technique to the service portfolio, in the Hospital of Dénia we have intervened 4 patients with Rectal Arterial Embolization. Thanks to this new technique, all patients have recovered more comfortably and quickly".

It is a procedure to treat hemorrhoids that allows the recovery of the patient in 24 hours.
