Partners Real Club Nautico Denia exercised their right to vote in the presidential elections of the club. In an election in which after the counting of votes, the winner was the candidate Jaime Portolés. His candidacy earned a total of 360 votes for the 205 of his opponent Vicente Vidal. There were two null votes so the total votes were from 567.
In spite of this will be the Electoral Board that decides who will be the president due to the presented challenges. On the one hand, Vicente Vidal contested the validity of the delegated votes contributed by the rival candidacy, considering that they had not been presented in closed envelope, thus breaking the secret of the vote.
The candidate Jaime Portolés, observing to his Auditor that the closed envelopes of the delegation of votes presented by the candidature of Vicente Vidal, were opened in the presence of the two Intervenors, Electoral Board, Notary and official of this one, chose to impugn in thinking that such a measure also broke the secret of the vote, as it was read and verified by them. To mean that the objection brought by Jaime Portolés is, in the alternative, that if his rival decides to withdraw the challenge, he will do the same.
Subsidiarity is exercised with the purpose of not forcing the Electoral Board, for the assumption that dismiss the challenge put forward by Vicente Vidal.
The Electoral Board has received within the legal term of three days the challenges on the part of the candidate Vicente Vidal, reason why now they will have to be studied so that it dictates the resolution of the voting. The Electoral Board has the maximum time to give its verdict until the next 4 in October.
