The Department of Cultural Progress has launched the documentary project «110 anys d’història de Dénia», The first of its kind to be carried out.
It is a question of gathering all the particular contributions that different families have made over the years in the form of personal recordings, selecting the best ones, arranging them chronologically and explaining each of the stages in order to create a document of historical interest And cultural history of Denia.
The documentary will last approximately 35 minutes, will cover the period from 1900 to 2010 and will offer a tour of the way of life, statistical data, illustrious characters, festivals, traditions or historic buildings.
After an introduction on a small historical reference of the first settlements, the contents are divided in eight great parts:
1. Economic and social progress: el comercio de la pasa, infraestructuras y comunicaciones (el puerto, el ferrocarril, telégrafo…), el Tenor Cortis, María Ibars y Juan Chabàs, la banca particular, periódicos, teatros y casinos.
