Last Sunday, the Dénia Barbarians rugby team faced AKRA Barbará on the playing field. The rival, current leader of the league and one of the favorites to be promoted to the Division of Honor along with Inter, demonstrated its superiority with a resounding 43-5 victory over the Barbarians.
Despite the effort and determination shown by the Dianense team, the disparity in level was evident from the beginning of the match. The only try scored by the Barbarians came in the 60th minute, courtesy of Diego Vidolini.
With this defeat, Dénia Rugby is forced to reevaluate its strategy and focus on the upcoming challenges. On Saturday, February 3, at 16:30 p.m., the Barbarians will receive the University of Alicante team at the "Tio Luis" Rugby Field at the Dénia Sports Center. An even match is expected, and the support of the local fans will be essential.
