The Dénia Festival de les Humanitats faces 2024 with new spaces and finalizes its spring edition

February 14 from 2024 - 15: 25

The scientific committee of Dénia Festival of the Humanities yesterday approved the Thought, Creativity and Humanities project, an initiative that structures and energizes this festival with activities throughout the year.

The project focuses on two main lines of action, transversal and complementary. On the one hand, the creation of seven academic, participatory and debate spaces in various areas of knowledge is contemplated, led by universities, institutes and schools that are members of the scientific committee.

These spaces include areas such as Art and Humanities, Politics and Citizenship, Social Sciences, Humanities and Business, Humanities, Literature and Territory, Emotional Education, and Equality and Agenda 2030.

The activity of these spaces will be developed throughout the year with the aim of promoting an innovative and transversal dialogue between them to promote social emancipation in the territory.

The mayor of Dénia and president of the committee, Vicent Grimalt, expressed that they seek to create a public sphere of participation and debate in each of the spaces, whose contents will be reflected in the programming of the Dénia Festival de les Humanitats, the second axis of the project.

This initiative marks the beginning of the multicampus project, whose objectives are the generation, dissemination and transfer of knowledge to solve essential problems of society.

The symbiosis between the different participating entities will begin with the spring edition of the Dénia Festival de les Humanitats 2024, which will be held on April 10 and 11. In this edition, two project spaces will be given prominence: the Espai Lluís Vives for Humanities and Business, and the Social Sciences Space led by the University of Valencia. In addition, the monograph of La Maleta de Portbou will be presented, which will summarize the 2023 edition of the festival.

The meeting of the DFH scientific committee was attended by the trustees of the Fundació Dénia Creativa, representatives of universities (Universidad Alicante, UNED, Universidad de València, Universitat Politècnica de València and the UJI), collaborating educational centers (Llebeig school and the three IES of the city) and a representation of CEFIRE.
