The Consell triplica in Dénia the resources destined to Social Services

The vice president of the Consell and councilor for Equality and Inclusive Policies, Mónica Oltra, has announced this Tuesday in Dénia that the resources of the Consell destined for Social Services in the capital of the Marina Alta have tripled by 2018.

Oltra has made these statements during the institutional visit he has made to Dénia, where he has had meetings with the political spokespersons and with the workers of the social services department.

Improvements in the Center Dona and in Social Services

Among the best carried out and the investments destined to Dénia, the change of location of the Center Dona 24 hours to the building of Archduke Charles Square, one more space "worthy, spacious and friendly" and the "template reinforcement", where professionals can better develop their work and "considerably improve care for women victims of sexist violence".

The Councilor recalled that, in the case of Dénia, improvements in staff have meant moving from a ratio of one worker for each 6.600 people to 2.300 people in 2018. As pointed out by the vice president of the Consell, the strengthening of municipal social services allows to create a network of professionals and a public system "able to combine the proximity to citizenship with the necessary resources to cover social needs, improving social and community intervention and acting for prevention, in order to rescue people and provide quality social care".

Speaking of figures, the Ministry has allocated 2.283.760 euros this year to the City of Denia for the development of programs and maintenance of social resources aimed at different groups. This amount represents an increase of 13% with respect to the amount paid last year and that involved a cost of 2.018.870 euros.

The subsidy lines that Dénia has received in the last year have also improved. The concerted plan of social services receives this year 640.480 euros compared to the 566.510 euros of last year, the line destined to residences and day centers for the elderly passes from 1.227.740 of euros to 1.420.690, the service for people with functional diversity of 103.290 to 116.890 euros, and that of the network of equality agents that passes from 25.000 to 33.400 euros.

In addition, the Seafis child care lines of the Dénia City Council will receive a grant of 42.300 euros this year from the 39.300 last year, and the Pangea offices for migrants receive a subsidy from 30.000 euros.

Reception and signature in the city's honor book

Before meeting with the staff of the Department of Social Services, Monica Oltra has been received by the mayor and several councilors of the corporation at City Hall, where she had the opportunity to sign in the city's honor book.

The vice president has written:
