The municipality of Dénia has approved in an extraordinary plenary session on Thursday morning, changing one of the projects of the Trust most controversial Plan: the solution to the traffic chaos that is generated at the intersection of Diana Street and Avenue Joan Fuster.

With the votes in favor of the government team (PSOE y Compromís), Citizens, CET and Gent of Dénia-Centre Unificat and the abstention of the Party, it has been approved to modify the initial project, which consisted of the installation of traffic lights at the intersection, by a roundabout crossed by the train track, which becomes the median of Joan Fuster avenue, allocating each of the sides to the same address.

It should be remembered that this project has already received the approval of the Department of Infrastructure and the Railways of the Generalitat Valenciana, which affects because it includes a level crossing that connects the street Pintor Llorens with Joan Fuster Avenue, which are currently separated by the train track and a fence that prevents the passage of pedestrians.

In the Plan Confianza grants, the initial traffic signaling project had an allocation of 199.434,28 euros. The budget of the new roundabout project amounts to 259.434,28 euros, so its realization will require a co-financing from the Ajuntament de Dénia to assume the difference of 60.000 euros that exists between both budgets.
