The Dénia City Council launches a Christmas campaign to make family diversity visible

22 December 2023 - 11: 21

The Department of Equality and Diversity of the Dénia City Council, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and Markets and the EATIM of La Xara and Jesús Pobre, launches the Christmas Large families, large families, a “pioneer in the Valencian Community” initiative, announces the Councilor for Equality and Diversity, Javier Scotto.

The councilor explains the objective of the campaign like this: «Christmas represents the holidays that revolve around the family, but in Dénia, Christmas represents the holidays around all families, because we put the emphasis on all models. of family, of diverse families. Because no two families are the same, nor is there a single traditional family made up of father, mother and children. "There are many people who do not feel represented in the anachronistic Christmas advertisements."

«Large families, large families expresses the wish that we spend a Christmas as a family: yours, the one you choose, the one you love and the one who loves you just as you are. It is about accepting diversity, avoiding bad experiences or traumatic experiences in which a family member is forced to deny their own identity, preventing them from going with the partner they love, forcing them to choose, having to hide reality or endure lgtbiphobic or xenophobic comments and insults,” adds Scotto.

The campaign begins today, Friday, December 22, and will be active until January 6, 2024. The message will be disseminated on the posters that will be distributed in the public buildings of Dénia, La Xara and Jesús Pobre, in the mupis distributed throughout the city and also on social networks.

Starting next week, 2.500 reusable bags will be distributed with the creativity of the campaign, thanks to the collaboration of the businesses affiliated with ACADE, the Municipal Mercat of Dénia, the Mercat del Riurau and other businesses in Jesús Pobre and La Xara.

  1. Manuel Femenia says:

The left and its determination to end the traditional family.
    This makes the psoe invokable.

  2. Anita says:

It is incredible that money has to be spent on this type of campaign, it is pure and simple indoctrination.

  3. Fernando says:

Christmas is a religious holiday no matter how much it may be, and it turns out that without a father and a mother there is no baby Jesus. Wow man, we are going to run a campaign that traumatizes a lot of people. Our money thrown into the trash so that politicians can get into our private lives and say what is right or wrong. As if they had some ethical or moral authority.

    • Joan Verdú says:

I remind you, gentleman, that in the Bible the role of father is played by a dove. How traditional it is as a family. Let's see if God is a socialist and we haven't found out.
Enjoy the holidays as a family, no matter what.
