They arrest a man for attacking a health worker at the Dénia Health Center

The National Police of Dénia has arrested the perpetrator of the attack on a health professional that occurred yesterday, Sunday, at the Dénia II Integrated Health Center -Joan Fuster-.

The events occurred early in the morning when the now detained man appeared at the Emergency Service of the health center with a cut on his hand, accompanied by a dog. The professional informed him that the entry of pets is not allowed, unless it is a guide dog, in cases of functional diversity.

At that moment the patient began to shout insults, death threats, and kick and punch him. The center's colleagues immediately notified the security service who, as stated in the procedure, alerted the police. When the agents arrived at the health center, the aggressor had fled, although he was later located, with another identity, in the Emergency Service of the Hospital de Dénia.

The aggressor is detained in police stations, while the health professional has ratified this morning the complaint that he previously filed at the Dénia National Police Station.

So far this year, 47 professionals have suffered verbal attacks in the Dénia Health Department. The Marina Salud Management has shown its full support for the attacked professional and underlines its commitment to safety and the prevention of attacks on healthcare professionals. Furthermore, the Management has described the events as execrable and has provided the professional with all the support, legal, healthcare and psychological support that he or she requires.

The Security Director of Marina Salud is also actively collaborating with the authorities to ensure that appropriate legal measures are taken against the aggressor, while protecting the victim.
