Dénia has to pay more than 47.000 euros to the state of occupation of the beaches

November 09 from 2013 - 00: 01

If the municipality charges a fee for occupation of public roads, in this case the tables are turned and the consistory himself who has to pay for occupying other public space: the beach.

Bars on the beach in Dénia 2013

The Dénia city council has to pay 47.200 euros to the General Directorate of Sustainability of the Coast and the Sea for occupation of the beaches during 2013. This is a payment that would cover the occupation carried out during the summer by kiosks, hammocks and umbrellas and rental points for scooters, canoes and kayaks. This was explained by the councilor María Mut when giving an account of the matters discussed in the Local Government Board held last week.

This payment would not have more importance if it were not because it is the session and the dianenses who are responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the beaches, with the award to a company of this service, Pavasal.

Thus, the state takes more than 47.000 euros from the regional capital as a concept of "occupation of public roads" which affirm that later on they will be reflected in the investment they make in the area in the general state budgets.

This i do not know. In the press release it says that spending was approved by the governing board. Perhaps it is news, how unfair it seems that the city has to pay for putting the bars, when the council itself that keeps the beaches in conditions.

  5. Jose Carlos says:

All their lives, coastal municipalities have paid to have beach bars, hammocks, etc… on the beaches. It does not seem right. I think they should change the Coastal Law in that sense.

Suppose you vote on the part of the dianenses (-by the way, it could be done, as was done when the election of the spending of 8 million, for the new bus station -). In the vote it comes out that you do not want hammocks , chriringitos ect, to avoid the payment of tax? Would they charge us for taking the umbrellas, hammocks and beers to the beach? ... TIME TO TIME ...
