Dénia pays tribute to its first radio hosts for International Women's Day

Last Friday, the International Women's Day 2024 tribute to the first radio presenters of Dénia, represented at the event by Marisa Ferrándiz and Ana Albarracín, took place in the auditorium theater of the Dénia Social Center.

With them, Maria Marsal, Amparo Marsal, Pepita Cabrera, Paquita Ribes, Manolita Marco, Rosita Oltra, Conchita Alemany, Rosa Pastor, Maite Marzá, Alicia Salort and Inmaculada Hernández were also honored, pioneering women of radio in Dénia since its creation of the first radio station in the city in 1933 until the beginning of the Transition. And in the act, the past met with the present and the presenters of the most recent years also participated in the celebration, receiving applause from the public: Miriam Pagán, who presented and led the tribute act, Françoise Crespo, Pepa Ginestar , Celia Marín and Marián Albalat.

At the event, the audiovisual was projected The radio with dona's watch created by Antoni Reig and Juan Antonio Masó for the occasion, twenty-five minutes of footage with old images and testimonies of the women who wrote, and continue to do so, the history of radio in the city.

The tribute was completed with a live performance by the group of female musicians Menta presenting the show Gardenia, a selection of boleros composed by women -Two gardenias for you o Kiss Me a lot, to give two examples - that have gone unnoticed while their works took on historical musical importance.
