Despite the determination shown by Joventut Xàbia during the second quarter, reducing the gap on the scoreboard, Dénia Básquet remained firm, reaching halftime with a nine-point lead (27-36). Behind him, the visiting team consolidated its dominance, standing out for its precision in three-point shots, which led them to a lead of more than twenty points in the third period.

Despite the efforts of the hosts in the last quarter, managing to close the gap, it was not enough to reverse the score. Even so, both teams provided an excellent sporting spectacle, with outstanding competition from both squads.

DBC SUMA 1st National against Albubasket

In their second match of the weekend, the Senior Men's 1st National team of the Dénia Básquet Club achieved a resounding victory against Albubasket, with a final score of 73-57, thus reaffirming its excellent moment in the season.

The match had a double importance for the team led by Eduardo Clavero. Firstly, the victory allowed them to consolidate themselves among the top eight places in the standings, positions that grant access to the promotion playoffs, in a crucial stage of the regular league. In addition, it represented an opportunity to distance themselves from a rival who had previously beaten them on their own turf in the first round.

From the beginning of the match, the Dénia Básquet Club players showed notable determination, displaying a high-level game in both phases of the game. This was quickly reflected on the scoreboard, where they managed to open a gap that could only be contained by Albubasket in the final moments of the first period (23-16).

The second quarter was more balanced, with an exchange of baskets that kept the difference practically intact at halftime (39-31). However, after the break, Dénia Básquet returned to the court with renewed energy and precision, overwhelming Albubasket in defense, rebound and success, expanding the advantage until reaching a gap of twenty points.

Despite Albubasket's efforts to get closer on the scoreboard during the last ten minutes, Dénia Básquet Club maintained control of the game, even allowing the participation of all its players in the final stretch. Unfortunately, the match also left Nacho Ots with an ankle injury, whom we wish a speedy recovery.

Autonomous Women's Senior loses to CDSC Godella

For its part, the Senior Women's team of the Dénia Básquet Club faced the undefeated leader of the group and favorite for promotion, CDSC Godella, in a match that kept the spectators in suspense until the last second.

The start of the match saw the visiting players, CDSC Godella, take an early lead, taking advantage of the locals' initial insecurity to establish a significant gap on the scoreboard at the end of the first quarter (7-21). However, the local team, led by Juan Luis Pérez, held on to solid defense and began to find its rhythm in the second period, making the opposition uncomfortable and struggling to reduce the deficit.

Despite reaching halftime with a similar difference on the scoreboard, the Dénia Básquet Club players showed determination after the break, managing to close the gap for the first time to less than ten points at the end of the third quarter (31-40). In the last ten minutes, the home team showed an outstanding performance, taking the game to the limit and getting dangerously close on the scoreboard. However, despite their efforts and a well-executed game, CDSC Godella managed to secure the victory with determination and hard work.

Despite the result, the Dénia Básquet Club showed a solid and collective game, with all the players contributing to the team's effort and making the right decisions at every moment of the game.

Defeat of the Preferred Senior Male in Canals

In a confrontation that stood out for the defensive intensity of both teams, the Dénia Básquet Club faced CB Canals in a Senior Men's Preferred category match that ended with a final score of 59-44 in favor of the hosts.

Despite an even start with an exchange of baskets that did not give clear indications about the possible winner (14-10), it was in the second period when the team led by Carlos Vila gave up an advantage that would prove decisive. The Dénia Básquet Club arrived at halftime with a thirteen-point deficit (36-23), which was difficult to reverse throughout the game.

Despite the persistent defense and rebounding effort by the Dénia Basquet Club, the team had difficulty scoring points in the second half of the match, which limited their chances of turning the score around and competing for victory.

The match was marked by outstanding defensive work by both teams, which translated into a relatively low final score. Despite the adverse result, the Dénia Básquet Club demonstrated a solid performance in defense and will continue working to improve its performance in future matches.
