Correos grants Gent de Dénia its own stamp to commemorate its 40th anniversary

13 December 2023 - 16: 00

Within the framework of the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the founding of the political party Gent of Dénia, La Xara i Jesús Pobre, it has been announced that Correos y Telégrafos has granted the privilege of issuing a commemorative postal stamp in a personalized format. The anniversary, which took place this year 2023, will culminate with a philatelic activity, highlighting the pioneering role of Dénia in the region in this area.

The official presentation of the stamp will take place on Friday, December 15 at 6 pm at the Main Post Office of Dénia, located at Carrer Patricio Ferrándiz 38. The stamp, with postal validity and a rate corresponding to standardized shipments for Spain, presents a design that captures an iconic image of the Castell de Dénia from the marina, accompanied by the slogan "40 Anys, Gent de Dénia amb les people" and the logo.

This postal event will be relevant not only for collectors and supporters of Gent de Dénia, but also for the community in general, as the stamp will be available for use in daily correspondence, particularly in the Christmas season.

As part of the celebrations, a philatelic exhibition is planned for next January, with the collaboration of the Philatelic Societies of Benissa and Calp, as well as members of Gent de Dénia who share the hobby of stamp collecting, contributing collections of mainly regional character.

The philatelic "Custom Stamp" modality offered by Correos has gained popularity among individuals, companies and entities, allowing the personalization of stamps with images related to the sender. This new stamp for the Postal History of Dénia, like its predecessors, is expected to be in high demand among philatelists.

It would be nice to see some stamps at the post office, instead of printed labels.
