The representative of Citizens in the Diputación de Alicante, Fernando Sepulcre, was yesterday in Dénia to visit the house and gardens of Torrecremada in order to assess their possibilities and strengthen, from the supramunicipal organization, so that the facilities are rehabilitated through grants from the culture department.
Sepulcre, who was accompanied by the councilmen of their group in Dénia, Mari Martínez y Sergio BenitoHe was also received by the councilors of the government team Óscar Mengual y Rafa CarrióWhich they showed the deputy facilities and the immense possibilities of space once rehabilitated.
Torrecremada house was acquired by the municipal government in the early 70, and from then until now there has been no improvement work. Although for some years hosted workshops CREAMA, facilities have no use from about 15 years ago.
The building, a construction of the S.XVI, is for Sepulcre "a jewel that we should not let go" in seeking to recover ceilings, floors, chapel and a mill with double stone of the few that can be found in the province of Alicante. As for the 32.000 square meters of gardens, Deputy Citizens claimed to have been "marveled at its diversity"But believes that better signage and a floral education would be necessary for those who visit them aware of the wealth that permeates the park.
Following the interest shown by the deputy, now need to work on a project of rehabilitation and improvement of the facilities present at the council. The base will be the project that was drafted a few years ago to present the Ministry with a budget of 1,5 million, but the intention is to carry out a specific project and work under way to mark from Alicante.
Both Sepulcre as the councilors of Citizens and the government team were convinced that this project will come to fruition and that this is "the first step to a great future" in these facilities.
Possible uses of the house of Torrecremada
At the time when space rehabilitation a reality, will be the newly created Council of Culture who will provide ideas for possible uses. The intention of the government team is that "citizen participation is essential", while Citizens expect that PSPV y Compromís consult with all the opposition teams and with the different sectors of the citizenship.
As agreed all parties is that the goal is to be Torrecremada "the heart and cultural and educational lung of the city".
