This will be the new Dénia Halloween: return to the roots with La nit de les ànimes

19 October 2023 - 14: 23

There is just over a week left until the most terrifying night of the year, paradoxically one of the most anticipated celebrations for boys and girls around the world. Also in Dénia, where in recent years it has gained enormous relevance thanks to the multiple proposals both on October 31 and the days before. This year, however, these offers are multiplying with a new objective: returning to the roots and Valencian tradition, moving away from the Halloween American.

The programming for La nit de les ànimes de Dénia has been announced this afternoon. For this, the councilors of Joventut have come together, Valen Alcala, Culture, Raúl García de la Reina, Trade, María José García, and Linguistic Normalization, Rafa Carrió, making clear from the first minute the transversal nature of the celebration, with different actions undertaken by various councils.

The Tunnel of Terror is reinvented

The most anticipated: the Tunnel of Terror (or Túnel de les Ànimes, on this occasion) returns. But he returns with many new features. To begin with, in response to the intention of recovering the Valencian tradition within the festival, on this occasion the monsters that will ambush within the route will be old acquaintances from our regions. Vampires, werewolves and zombies will be replaced by Butoni, the bogeyman and bubotas.

Also as a novelty, in order to prevent anyone from being left out of the attraction, 1800 bracelets will be distributed in the queue to ensure that all those who have one can enjoy the tunnel, thus controlling that the queue does not exceed the established hours.

The lightest tunnel, for the whole family, will be on October 31 from 17:00 p.m. to 19:00 p.m. At the end, in the Plaza del Consell there will be musical performances aimed at families between 19:00 p.m. and 20:00 p.m. Now, from 22:00 p.m. to 00:30 a.m. things will get serious and a more terrifying version will begin, only for adults.

Terrifying Escape Rooms

In addition, like previous years, Joventut will carry out a series of themed escape rooms for those dates. On October 27, 28 and 29, for people over 12 years old, a free Saw-themed event will be held on the ground floor of the building (in Ronda Muralles). It will be on Friday from 18:00 p.m. to 23:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. and 18:00 p.m. to 23:00 p.m., and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. Also on the afternoon of the 30th, a “Dels Joves” Escape Room will be held, from 18:00 p.m. to 00:00 a.m., for those over 16.

Both will last half an hour and, although they are free, registration is required by calling the Joventut council (966423700).

Storytelling for all ages

From Culture, they have announced that the Municipal Library will also join the celebration with the creation of a themed section, with specific bibliography of Valencian horror, and will present a decoration full of monsters, according to the date. Likewise, several storytellers have been scheduled to take place in the library itself, on October 28 at 12:00 by Senyor Tomaca, who will previously visit the reading agencies of Jesús Pobre and La Xara, and on November 4 at 12:00 with the reading of the work La Maria does not tea for.

But they will not be the only storytellers, since the Department of Linguistics Normalization has also organized one, this time theatrical, for the whole family about Valencian monsters in the castle from Dénia. It will be at 17:30 p.m. and will be performed by Moni Poppins & CIA.

Raffle for a cart with local products

This year, the Mercat also joins the celebration, presenting the building with a decoration on the occasion of La nit de les ànimes. But in addition, a raffle has been organized among customers for a car valued at more than 200 euros with local products donated by market businesses. Anyone who makes a purchase of at least 10 euros can participate, depositing the ticket with their name, surname and telephone number in a ballot box located in the facility.

Thank you very much in advance

  2. Lluis says:

The night d'animes, or "les animetes" is a Valencian tradition, but it is from night 1 to 2.

  3. Illustrious ignorant says:

They are smoked, to call it the night of animes, they move away from the American holiday Halloween. Anyway. Minds full of diarrhea.

And the nits of the animes is Mallorcan. Nothing Valencian.

The roots are what they are, stop manipulating culture, history and beliefs. I repeat for the slow ones. SAMHAI M.
