Open the deadline to request the vote by mail in the regional elections

07 March 2019 - 00: 38

This Tuesday has opened the deadline to apply to exercise the right to vote in the upcoming elections to Les Corts Valencianes next 28 April in the modalities of accessible voting, vote by ordinary mail and vote of people residing outside the national territory and either temporarily or permanently.

Accessible vote

The accessible vote is the one that allows people with visual disabilities to exercise their right to passive suffrage with full autonomy and keeping the secret. You can request until the next 1 in April through the free phone 900 150 000. They can be requested by people with visual disabilities who know the Braille reading-writing system and have a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33% or are affiliated with the Spanish National Organization of the Blind (ONCE). The use of this procedure is voluntary for those who meet the requirements. Voters may also be assisted by someone they trust to vote, if they wish.

Non-attendance vote

Likewise, on Tuesday, the deadline to request any of the forms of non-contact vote in the polling stations has been opened. This category includes the vote by ordinary mail, as well as the postal vote of voters and voters who are temporarily outside the national territory (ERTA) and the vote of residents abroad who are part of the Electoral Census of Absent Residents (CERA) ).

Thus, voters who foresee that on the date of the vote will not be in the locality where they are entitled to vote or may not appear in their polling station may request the vote by mail from this Tuesday until the next 18 in April. It must be requested personally at any post office, for which it will be necessary to display the National Identity Document.

Those people who are temporarily outside the national territory (ERTA) and appear in the Consular Registration Register as non-residents can request the vote by mail until March's 30.

Vote by mail for residents outside the Region

In this same period, Valencians and Valencians residing abroad who are part of the CERA may also apply, registered in the Registration Register of the Consular Office. If any voter or elector of the CERA is temporarily in Spain during the call for elections, may request (as do the residents in the country) vote by mail from this Tuesday 5 March and up to the 18 April, without it supposes his loss of the Electoral Census of Absent Residents.

Detailed information on the procedure to be followed in each of these cases can be consulted on the website www.eleccions2019.gva.es, where you can also download the forms for the request of the vote, as well as those of the candidatures.
