Last weekend the municipal sports center of Dénia hosted the first edition of Olímpic, the olympics for senior citizens of the Marina Alta in which a hundred people from the municipalities of Pedreguer, Els Poblets, Ondara, Xàbia and Dénia.
Throughout the day, the participants competed in athletics, with 100 meter marches, 400x100 relays and ball throwing; swimming, with tests of 25 meters and 50 meters of freestyle; basketball, with a small circuit that each participant had to travel alone making boats and throwing a basket and, finally, a section of dance choreographies.
At the end of the competition the councilor of sports, Juan Carlos Signes, And the president of CEMA, Antonio Reig, Presented the awards to the champions of each discipline.
The Olimpic project has been created and developed by Emilio Monfort, With the collaboration of the Ajuntament de Dénia, the Consorci Esportiu de la Marina Alta (CEMA), the training cycle of physical activities of the IES Historian Chabàs de Dénia and the Centro Deportivo Dénia.
Such has been the success of this first edition, the organization is already working on the second call to be held next season.
