Vote by mail in Dénia: how to request? Does it free you from being president or member of a polling station?

May 13 from 2023 - 09: 00

On May 28, 29.431 residents will be able to vote in the municipal elections of Dénia. However, some people will inevitably be out of town or have obligations that keep them away from the polls. For these cases, the option to vote by mail is vital, so it is necessary to know how to make use of this right before 28M.

How to apply to vote by mail?

If someone from Dénia decides to vote by mail, they must request a certificate of registration in the Electoral Census of the city. With this, and taking into account that once requested, it will not be possible to vote at the table, there are two ways to request it:

  • Telematics: On the web Correos.es you can ask for the print. For this, it is necessary to have an electronic ID or digital certificate.
  • In person: At any post office, the voter who wishes can request to vote by mail in person by presenting the ID, passport or driver's license.

Once the vote has been requested, you have to wait for all the material to be sent home by mail, including envelopes, ballots and documentation on the polling station and census (an information sheet will also arrive that explains how to proceed). Shipments began on May 8.

How to vote by mail?

With each vote in its corresponding envelope, insert it together with the census registration certificate in an envelope. The recipient's data must be completed with the address of the polling station. This envelope must be sent by certified mail from a Post Office before the end of the term. Shipping is free and it is necessary to show ID.

How long do I have the term?

The request to vote by mail must be made between April 4 and May 18 (Thursday). Once requested, the vote must be sent before the third day before the elections. That is, before May 25.

If I ask to vote by mail, am I free from being elected as president or member of a polling station?

Every time an election approaches, this legend runs again among family and friends. But it's just that, an urban legend. Requesting to vote by mail does not exclude you from the electoral roll, so you can continue to be elected. In fact, taking into account that the draw has already been made and it is known who will be part of each polling station in Dénia, and that you can still request a vote by mail until next May 18, this invented rule loses all its meaning.

Voting should be done online through free public servers.
Enough of polling stations and mail.
    The forests have to survive.
    And electoral propaganda, also online.
    Internet.
    No other thing.
