Vicent Soler demands in Dénia the executive of Pedro Sánchez to open the debate on regional financing

18 July 2018 - 06: 34

The Minister of Finance and Economic Model, Vicent Soler, was on Tuesday afternoon in Dénia to present the work being done by the Botanical Government in the last three years. This visit is part of the tour that the councilors of the executive of Ximo Puig are doing throughout the Community to engage in dialogues with citizens and «rendir cuentas», according to they affirm, with the neighbors.

Soler reviewed the achievements of the Consell de Puig and the pending issues that are still on the table, with special emphasis on the Tren de la Costa claim and a worthy infrastructure for a community «infravalorada e infrafinanciada» by the central government.

In this sense, Soler demanded the new president of the government, the socialist Pedro Sánchez, to open the political debate, «algo que el Gobierno anterior no fue capaz de hacer». The Minister of Finance recalled that the Valencia Region is one of the big ones affected by the current financing model, which has remained valid for four and a half years after having expired.

«Los valencianos y las valencianas no nos merecemos este trato», said Conseller Soler, «nos merecemos recibir los fondos que sean necesarios para disponer de unos servicios públicos fundamentales de calidad, acercando nuestros recursos a la media del conjunto de las comunidades autónomas y no estando a la cola».

About thirty people, many of them socialist supporters and members of the local government, attended this event, which was held at the Castle of Dénia. Following the explanation of the Minister, several of the attendees were encouraged to raise questions about the financing model and the possible fiscal pressure on companies, among others.

Vicent Soler was accompanied by the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, who made the introduction of the act. There were also councilors Cristina Morera, Paco Roselló and Maria Josep Ripoll, and the Socialist deputy in les Corts, Rosa Mustafá, among others.
