An intense chase at the entrance to Dénia culminated in the arrest of a group of traffickers by the National Police. The operation, carried out by Udyco as part of a fight against large-scale cocaine trafficking, took place on Tuesday afternoon and resulted in the arrest of five men, three of them in Dénia and two in Benicassim.

As revealed by the newspaper Levante-EMV, the police action was triggered when Udyco agents followed a vehicle in Benicassim that began a trip south along the AP7 highway. Upon noticing the police presence, the suspects made the decision to detour and exit the highway at the Ondara tollbooth, beginning a rapid escape. The persecution intensified with the participation of agents from the Dénia National Police and the Civil Guard.

The outcome of the chase took place in the parking lot of a supermarket at the entrance to Dénia, where the suspects rammed two police vehicles, causing considerable damage. Once cornered, the three individuals who were in the vehicle threw away the keys, allowing the authorities to open the vehicle after finding them and discovering a shipment of more than 300 kilograms of cocaine.

The intervention is part of a broader operation targeting large-scale cocaine trafficking and specifically targeting the Balkan cartel. Those arrested will face charges related to drug trafficking and resistance to authority.
