From Dénia to Figueres. It is the route taken by the 36 toy pieces that both the Dénia Toy Museum and the Amics del Joguet Association have lent to the Toy Museum of Catalonia to be shown in the museum's temporary exhibition from May 8 to July 13.

The president of the Amics del Joguet Association of Dénia, Maite Carrió, explained that they have sent toys that chronologically represent the Dianense toy story, which will be accompanied by a video in which the majority of manufacturers in the city will be represented.

Of the 36 pieces that have been shipped, 6 are part of the permanent exhibition of the Toy Museum, among which are a vespa and a scooter from the Sahuquillo factory, a car from Simó or a fire engine from La Llauca. The other pieces belong to the funds of the Association, and are smaller toys that also represent what was the toy industry of the city.

It is the coincidence that the 7 and 8 days of June, when the exhibition can still be visited in the Catalan museum, the city of Figueres celebrates the Toy Party, Two days in which games take to the streets and there are many activities related to the toy industry.

Taking advantage of this situation, Maite Carrió and Charo Cabrera will present their book "Els joguets de Dénia", Who wrote thanks to a scholarship of investigation of the city council and that they have divulged with the collaboration of the University of Valencia.

New additions to the association

Roser Cabrera, a member of the Friendship Association of the Joguet in Denia, welcomed the new additions of young people with new ideas to the association, which intends from now on to make known beyond our borders the history of the toy in Denia .

The councilor for culture, Pepa Font, recognized the obligation of public institutions to disseminate the city's toy heritage, something that goes beyond a mere anecdote in the history of Dénia.
